GRANTS ARE MADE ACCORDING TO TRUST AGREEMENT DATED DECEMBER 21, 1923. KEYBANK,AS TRUSTEE, MAKES DISTRIBUTIONS FOR THE OPERATION,MAINTENANCE, AND UPKEEP OF THE WESTERN RESERVE ACADEMY. DISTRIBUTIONS ARE TO BE USED SOLELY FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. SPECIFICALLY, TO MAINTAIN AND OPERATE AN INSTITUTION OF LEARNING FOR BOYS AND YOUNG MEN THAT THEY MAY BE PREPARED TO BE USEFUL CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC, AND IN ADDITION TO THE USUAL CURRICULUM COMPRISING THE CLASSICS, HUMANITIES, AND SCIENCES, TO MAINTAIN A DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE. IT SHALL BE THE PURPOSE OF THE SCHOOL TO AVOID AS FAR AS POSSIBLE THE DEFECTS OF MODERN EDUCATIONAL METHODS. STUDENTS SHALL BE DEVELOPED BY INSISTENCE ON THE MASTERY OF FUNDAMENTAL SUBJECTS OF STUDY. SCIENTIFIC RESEARCHES CONDUCTED BY MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY ARE TO BE ENCOURAGED.
